Specialist services are available to eligible whānau who are affected by mental health and addiction issues.

About these services

We offer a wide range of clinical and non-clinical services to whānau of all ages. These are listed in the accordion menu on this page and will connect you to a webpage about each service.

All services are designed to:

  • Be responsive to your needs and the needs of your whānau

  • Be focussed around recovery, resilience and relapse-prevention

  • Promote independence

  • Support whānau to make informed choices

  • Reduce inequalities

  • Promote seamless and integrated services

  • Pūkenga manaaki (experienced mental health support workers) provide a recovery-oriented community-based assessment, treatment and therapy service for mental health and addiction problems.

    This service is based within a kaupapa Māori framework and responsive to the needs of tangata whaiora and their whānau.

    Referral into this service must be made by a specialist healthcare worker at Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora.

  • Our mental health clinicians offer a mana-enhancing service for kōhungahunga (infants), tamariki and rangatahi up to age 18, and their whānau.

    We take a kaupapa Māori strengths-based approach to prevention, assessment and diagnosis, treatment and therapy.

    Your family doctor (GP) and secondary health care (e.g hospital) specialist can refer you to CAMHS, or use our online referral form.

  • The service is for individuals and whānau harmed by alcohol and drug (AOD) use.

    Your GP (doctor), specialist healthcare provider (eg inpatient care) and other AOD providers can refer you to AOD, or use our online enrolment / referral form.

  • Te Ata Pūao is for people experiencing ‘mild to moderate’ issues with mental health and /or addictions, including rangatahi.

Ngā Pūkenga Manaaki Hauora mo Ngā Pakeke | Adult Mental Health (AMH) whānau navigator services are accessible by referral through Health NZ / Te Whatu Ora mental health specialist services.

Referrals to all other services listed in the accordion menu on this page can be made by your GP (doctor) or other healthcare provider.
