Tiakina tō hauora,tiakina tō whānau
As winter approaches, it’s a good time to strengthen our tinana and protect those we love

Any time is the right time for a kōrero about immunisation options (werohanga) for your hauora and wellbeing.
So let’s have a kōrero now at the beginning of hōteke, winter, when we usually experience the worst of preventable illnesses that can affect a whole whānau.
Why werohanga matter
Vaccinations help to:
reduce the chance of you catching and spreading contagious diseases like ‘flu or measles
reduce the chance of you becoming seriously unwell (needing hospital) if you do contract a disease
protect kaumātua, pēpi and vulnerable whānau
support strong immunity across our hapori
keep tamariki at kura, pakeke at mahi and whānau healthy in their home able to care for each other.
Ratonga Āraimate - our immunisation services
Our highly-trained nurses provide the following types of immunisation:
Flu (influenza)
recommended every year
free for kaumātua aged 65+, hapū māmā, and whānau with long-term health conditions. Talk to us to check your options.
Childhood Immunisation Schedule
free for pēpi, tamariki and rangatahi
protects against diptheria, hepatitus, measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus and more
our team can check if your child is up to date and support you with the next steps.
COVID-19
free for everyone aged 5+
annual ‘booster’ vaccinations helps maintain your immunity (protection) levels.
Shingles (Shingrix®)
recommended for adults aged 50+
free for whānau aged 65 and for some people with higher health risks.
Now is the best time to have your vaccinations with us, before winter illness peaks. More than one vaccine can be given to you at the same visit. Our kaimahi can kōrero with you about what’s right for you and your whānau.
We’ll ask you to stay for 15 minutes afterwards to make sure you’re feeling well enough to leave. Our hauroa hubs are comfortable and welcoming – nau mai haere mai.
