Te Piki Oranga is the regional Māori health provider delivering kaupapa Māori Health and Wellness services across Te Tauihu, working in a Whānau Ora framework within Te Ao Māori. We have been delivering Heartlands services in Picton for the past 18 months.

Our Kaituitui Pūmanawa Whenua/Heartlands Coordinator will be based at our Picton Pūmanawa Whenua/Heartlands Service Centre. Working in collaboration and partnership with other key stakeholders within our community to provide a culturally responsive, socially sensitive service to support the needs of our community.  

The Pūmanawa Whenua/Heartlands Service Centre is a one-stop shop where you can find a friendly face-to-face confidential service offering support, advocacy, resources, and information - assisting whānau to access a range of government services and community organisations.

Our Kaituitui Pūmanawa Whenua/Heartlands Coordinator will provide a coordination function, under the direction of our Wairau Pūkenga Kaiwhakahaere/Site Manager, as well as delivering services to our whānau within our community alongside another part time kaimahi.         

We are seeking a part-time kaimahi with experience successfully coordinating support services to a wide range of whānau; demonstrable administration and organisational abilities; experience managing the day to day functions of a service; demonstrable ability to build rapport, establish trust and maintain confidential services; the ability to work collaboratively, to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships; excellent initiative, research and communication skills; and an understanding of Māori models of hauora including how the principles of Te Triti ō Waitangi apply to health and social services. An understanding of Te Reo me ōna Tikanga and experience working within/or with kaupapa Māori organisations would be an advantage.

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinician to join our team based in Whakatū. In this role, you will work closely with tamariki and rangatahi who are experiencing psychological, emotional, or behavioural challenges. You will provide specialised mental health assessments, interventions, and ongoing support, ensuring that care is evidence-based, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with the needs of whānau.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, cultural safety, and holistic approaches to wellbeing. Your mahi will contribute directly to positive mental health outcomes and help strengthen the resilience and mana of the whānau we serve.

You are empathetic, highly communicative, and grounded in a whānau-centred approach to care. You bring strong clinical skills in assessment, planning, and intervention, and you’re confident navigating referral pathways and working alongside other professionals. You understand the importance of cultural identity in mental health and are committed to working in a way that upholds the values and aspirations of Māori communities.

Ngā pūkenga ka whai koe | Skills and Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in health or an allied health field.

  • Current registration as a mental health practitioner.

  • A solid understanding of mental health conditions, interventions, and best practices.

  • Experience working with tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau in a mental health setting.

  • Strong relationships with key stakeholders in the health and social services sector.

  • Proficiency in report writing and client management systems (INDICI experience is a plus).

  • A commitment to cultural development and continuous learning.

  • A collaborative mindset and a willingness to contribute to a supportive team environment.
