    Te Piki Oranga is the largest Tikanga Māori health service provider in Te Tauihu o Te Waka-a-Māui (Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough). We deliver whānau-centred health services from our hubs in Whakatū, Wairau, and Motueka, as well as through mobile clinics and home visits.

    Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

    We are seeking an experienced Alcohol and Other Drug Clinician / Counsellor to ensure whānau in Whakatū can access the support services they need. Services that are responsive to their individual needs as identified through their comprehensive assessments. This part time role of 20 hours per week would suit someone working in the industry full time wanting to reduce their workload and or someone looking to return to the workforce.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Provide comprehensive assessments, care planning, and therapy-based interventions for whānau.

    • Facilitate AOD programmes (e.g., Matrix) and connect whānau to internal and external services.

    • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.

    • Encourage culturally safe practices and apply Māori models of health

    Ko wai koe | About you

    Our ideal candidate will have:

    • Current registration with NZAC and DAPAANZ

    • Relevant tertiary qualification in health or allied field.

    • Experience working with Māori and applying Māori health models.

    • Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of mental health and addiction.

    • Commitment to cultural development and continuous learning

    • Ability to use IT systems and maintain accurate client records.
