Pūkenga Atawhai / Community Health Nurse - (Blenheim)


Te Piki Oranga is a regional Māori health provider delivering health services across Te Tau Ihu, working in a Whānau Ora framework and "Te Ao Māori".

Te Piki Oranga is extending its nursing team and is looking for a permanent part time (20 hours .5 FTE) registered nurse to deliver health care to Māori whānau in the community. This position will be based in our new office in Wairau/Blenheim.

 The purpose of this role is to:

  • Provide clinical health services that identify, prevent and reduce cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/asthma, diabetes and cancer within the whānau of Te Tau Ihu.

  • Provide assessment and develop Whānau Ora plans for whānau/individuals to improve their hauora.

  • Utilise treatment, intervention and prevention strategies consistent with the competencies and code of conduct of the Nursing Council of New Zealand.

  • Work alongside general practitioners, specialists and clinicians to improve the health status of the whānau/individual.
