Te Piki Oranga is a regional Māori health provider delivering health services across Te Tau Ihu, working in a Whānau Ora framework and "Te Ao Māori".

Te Piki Oranga is extending its nursing team and is looking for a permanent 20 to 40 hours (negotiable) registered nurse to deliver health care to Māori whānau in the community. This position will be based in our new office in the health hub in Wairau/Blenheim.

 The purpose of this role is to:

  • Provide clinical health services that identify, prevent and reduce cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/asthma, diabetes and cancer within the whānau of Te Tau Ihu.

  • Provide assessment and develop Whānau Ora plans for whānau/individuals to improve their hauora.

  • Utilise treatment, intervention and prevention strategies consistent with the competencies and code of conduct of the Nursing Council of New Zealand.

  • Work alongside general practitioners, specialists and clinicians to improve the health status of the whānau/individual.
