Te Piki Oranga is a regional Māori health provider delivering health services across Te Tau Ihu, working in a Whānau Ora framework and "Te Ao Māori".

Te Piki Oranga is looking for a permanent full time (30 - 36 hours) Tūhono Navigator to start in July at our office on Te Āwhina Marae in Motueka. This is a new pilot programme and position being developed to provide intensive support to vulnerable hapu mothers and their babies.

The successful candidate will be part of a larger kaupapa Māori health team alongside an external evaluator and other agencies including childcare providers.

 The focus of this role is:

  • To provide a support early intervention and education to families,

  • To liaise, facilitate and advocate with appropriate organisations on behalf of whānau alongside a clinical team and social workers.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Ability to facilitate groups,

  • Able to relate to young people,

  • Knowledge of Te Reo me Ona Tikanga, 

  • Relevant qualifications with transferrable skills in hauora Māori.
